Booking & Check-In

Information about bookings, payments and check-in.

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?

CHECK IN time is FROM 2PM. Please contact our Reception if you are planning on arriving earlier but please note that access to your apartment cannot be guaranteed until 2PM.

Should you be arriving after office hours, please contact us on the morning of your arrival so we can arrange your Out of Hours Arrival.

CHECK OUT time is 10AM. Late checkouts, if available, are $45.00 til 4pm. Please note that this would need to be requested with Reception after your arrival and cannot be guaranteed. However you may use our under cover pool area facilities until departure.

We can happily store any luggage if arriving before Check in, or need to store following check-out.

Q: Do you require a security bond upon check-in?

Payment is on arrival by credit card. (Cash is accepted providing credit card details are on file or $150 cash bond applies).

Q: Is after hours check-in available?

Yes, please contact reception prior to arrival to arrange

Q: What are the reception hours?

Reception hours are 7.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 6.00pm weekends and public holidays. These times may vary for time to time.

Q: Can I book tours at reception?

Our front desk can take all tour bookings with no booking fee, in fact we are giving 5%-10% off all tours if you choose to book through us. Our staff, having first hand local knowledge will recommend the best tour to suit your needs.

Tour Ideas: The Great Barrier Reef - Cairns Holiday Lodge receive 3 day forward weather reports on reef winds etc-so booking this on arrival and choosing the best day is important). Scenic Train/Sky Rail (Gondolas), A J Hackett’s Bungy Jump or Minjin Swing, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures White water Rafting, Sky Diving, Ballooning over the Atherton Tablelands, Paronella Park  Castle, Innisfail with five beautiful Water falls tour, Cape Tribulation, Cooktown, Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, Daintree Rain Forests plus many more. Learn to throw a boomerang with Tjapakai experience etc. 

We can also arrange for you to be picked up and returned from Cairns Holiday Lodge .

A complimentary starter pack of coffee / tea / sugar is in all rooms. FREE loan of Beach towels & umbrellas,  just ask at reception.

The Lodge has two coin operated laundries, a saltwater pool with water fall. The covered BBQ area with free gas is another feature you may use if you choose to stay with us. Simply ask our receiption staff for your FREE BBQ pack which includes oil, condiments and sauces.

Q: Is there car parking available?

Yes, we offer free off street parking for guests at our holiday accommodation Cairns. There is also an option to street park boats/trailers etc.

Q: How often are the rooms serviced?

Yes, you will receive a mid stay service if staying more than 7 nights

General information about our location.

Q: Where is the closest beach?

The most popular beaches are Trinity and Palm Cove which are 15-20 kilometres away. The Lagoon which is situated on the esplanade is the free public swimming pool attracting hundreds of people. After a swim you can relax on the lawns around the pool.

Q: Is there public transport nearby?

There is a bus stop next door to Cairns Holiday Lodge with Sunbuses heading to the Northern palm fringed beaches. On the opposite side of the road you can catch a bus to the City. Taxis from the airport are between $15 and $20 depending on time of day. Taxis to the City are $10-$15 and are usually at our doorstep in 5 minutes.

Q: What local attractions are in the area?

As a priority we suggest spending a day out on the Great Barrier Reef and a second day exploring Kuranda going up on the Scenic Railway and coming down on the Skyrail. These are the most popular tours in Cairns.

Cairns Holiday Lodge is a 20 minute walk along the Esplanade to lots of restaurants, unusual playgrounds, skateboard park, beach volley ball court all on the waterfront way to the lagoon that holds 1,000 people & city centre.

If you stroll the other way 20mins you’ll be at the beautiful Botanic Gardens via Boardwalk over Centenary Lakes, Tanks Gallery, also a coffee and food shop. From this area is the closest Rainforest to Cairns where you can challenge yourself to the popular RED ARROW WALK 1.3KM or the BLUE ARROW WALK 5KM.

Pamper yourself at Nearby highly recommended Body Therapy Places. Services include Massages, Sauna, Acu-pressure, Barefoot Thai Style Massage, Deep Tissue Massage. Perhaps your ideal holiday would be to have a mobile service come to your room and enjoy a Swedish Massage. A Gym is also close by.

Q: Where can I buy groceries locally?

Just 2 blocks from us is a Bakery, Continental Deli, Friendly Grocer Supermarket and a number of takeaways ranging from Pizza and Enchiladas to Fish & Chips to Chinese and Yiros.

Also close by is a Friendly Grocer food store that is open 24hours, surrounded by bakery and take away food stores, Pedro pizzas and great enchiladas, Fish and chips, Kebabs, Chinese and an Indian Restaurant.

Across the road is 24hr B.P petrol station with frozen goods. To the left is a 2 block walk to Dunwoody’s Hotel with good Meals Sports Bar and Pokies. They have a handy bottle shop for that wine required if you choose to use kitchenette type apartment.

To the right on second block, Pedros Pizzeria opposite Captain Cook statue with meals starting at $14 and there is delivery to room service,also  Little Ricardo’s Restaurant serves great Italian Trattoria & Pizzeria. The Cock and Bull Hotel is still another popular place for family dining. Meals are so big you can ask for two plates and pay for one then try their death by chocolate a great one to be shared. Walking past there is the Bay Leaf restaurant a very clean Balinese style restaurant with a great breakfast meals starting at $14.
